Ο3 Raise Up Manual!

The IO3 Raise up Manual will offer guidance and practical tools for young people and any activist or youth worker to develop alternative narratives to counter hate speech.

The IO3 Raise up Manual will develop knowledge, skills and competences of young people who will be enable to fully participate in all aspects of society.

The Manual complement IO1 and IO2 and it will summarise definitions of hate speech and the different ways to identify it, but above all it will showcase the different ways to Young people including the opportunity of education for democratic citizenship and human rights education.

In this sense, this manual aims to support young people in taking action and working for a social change through social action.

The objective of the Manual is to strengthen reactions to hate speech, by countering, counterbalancing and preventing hate speech and taking social spaces with positive narratives and stories of civil audacity.

The manual will be constituted of:

– Tips to upscale actions against hate speech by using counter and alternative narratives

– Case studies of narratives contributing to the spread of hate speech

– Good practices of the use of counter and alternative narratives, especially from European

frameworks, and embracing a human rights education methodology

– Comics co-produced by young people illustrating the narratives described in the manual.
